Tetiana Samoilovych

Tetiana Samoilovych is a non-professional Ukrainian artist.
She was born in Chernihiv (Ukraine). At present she lives and works in Kyiv (Ukraine).
She started learning oil painting technique in 2011 and was taking private lessons untill the end of 2016. Her first tutors were Irene Fedotova (Kyiv) and Raisa Atamaniuk (Chernihiv).
She devoted much time to self-education. Ukrainian, Russian and American professional artists contributed greatly to this process. Among them there were I.Saharov, O.Buiko, A.Belopesotskaya, I.Zdanov, V.Mamedov, A.Sadykova, E.Kirilchiuk, L.Stepanova, M.Skoblinsky, G.Jenkins and K.Jenkins, B.Ross and others.
In the second half of 2016 she took an interest in Contemporary Art and started doing abstract paintings.
In 2017 she developed her own method of spreading oil paints on the canvas with a palette-knife. She called it “spiral” because of the visual effect, i.e. flat spiral circles, that one can see on the surface of paint layers (See “Clown”, 2017).
She is fond of impressionism and abstractionism. Her favourite artist is Claude Monet.
